Easy Lover by Miley Cyrus is a pop, pop rock, and soft rock track featured on her ninth studio album, Something Beautiful (2025). The song, which also incorporates elements of blues and country, has an upbeat tempo and explores the emotions associated with the conclusion of a romantic relationship, moving from sadness to anger and acceptance.

Originally considered for her album Plastic Hearts (2020) and even Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter (2024), Cyrus held onto the concept for years before reimagining it for Something Beautiful. During its final development, she collaborated with American musician Brittany Howard, who is referenced in the lyrics and played electric guitar on the track.

Cyrus co-wrote Easy Lover with Michael Pollack, Ryan Tedder, and Omer Fedi, and produced it alongside Pollack, Shawn Everett, and Jonathan Rado. It was released as the sixth track on Something Beautiful on May 30, 2025, through Columbia Records, and later became the album’s second single in Italy on July 4, 2025.

A music video for Easy Lover, co-directed by Cyrus, Jacob Bixenman, and Brendan Walter, premiered concurrently with the album. The video depicts Cyrus in a showgirl persona, preparing in a dressing room and performing on a film studio stage. Prior to the album’s release, Cyrus performed the song live at various private events in the United States. Critics have praised the song, with some noting its “groovy” beat and similarities to her earlier country-influenced work, as well as drawing comparisons to artists like Fleetwood Mac, ABBA, and Grace Jones.
