I Don’t Wanna Stop Review by Good Charlotte
The American rock band Good Charlotte’s self-titled debut album was released on September 26, 2000, by Epic and Daylight.
The album underperformed expectations despite garnering positive reviews, placing at number 185 on the Billboard 200.
“Little Things,” the album’s lead single, made it into the top 30 on both the Mainstream Top 40 and the Alternative Songs lists.
Joel Madden and Benji Madden, who are identical twins, started the band in 1995. Billy Martin, Paul Thomas, Aaron Escolopio, and Billy Martin also played guitar.
Two radio stations played a demo of “Little Things,” and by the beginning of 2000, Good Charlotte had signed with Epic Records.
The debut album’s recording sessions with producer Don Gilmore took place in four studios throughout.
In November 2000, the “Little Things” music video began receiving airplay.
The music video for “The Inspiration Proclamation” was created after the single “Small Things” was released as a single in March 2001.
Between March and May 2001, the group went on tour with MxPx and appeared at HFStival, where a music video for “Festival Song” was filmed. Escolopio then departed the group, and Nate Foutz of Vroom took his place.
For six weeks, Foutz remained with the group before being replaced by Dusty Bill.
From June through August, the group performed in Warped Tour.
“The Inspiration Proclamation” was released as a single in August as well, and “Festival Song” followed in 2002.
The album was later awarded silver and gold certifications in the UK.
