The song has received two Grammy Award nominations for Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group in 2008. The official music video was premiered on 18 May, 2008 directed by Asa Mader and nominated for Best Special Effects at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards. As for record, “Violet Hill” has peaked at number #40 on US Billboard Hot 100 chart, topped on US Adult Alternative Songs chart, top 10 internationally in Australia, Belgium, Canada, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden and United Kingdom. It was certified silver by British Phonographic Industry (BPI) for sales over 264,000+ copies.
